Our verdict

Hostinger wins this one comfortably. You get faster hosting, a nicer control panel, and a renewal price that stings far less, all for similar promo pricing. Bluehost rides on two decades of brand recognition and blog recommendations, but the renewal price that more than doubles and the constant upsells are hard to defend. Choose Bluehost only if you specifically want its deep WordPress.com-style onboarding; otherwise, Hostinger treats you better.

Fast hosting and a clean control panel for a few dollars a month. The low price does require paying four years up front; renewal is higher but reasonable. For a first website, the obvious place to start.Editorial team, on Hostinger
The most advertised name in hosting, and fine for a basic WordPress site. But the renewal price more than doubles and the upsells never stop. There are better deals on this list.Editorial team, on Bluehost
